Theatrical / stage blood is a liquid used as a substitute for real blood. Not only is it used on stage, in films and during photo shoots, but also for creating realistic mock injuries when training medical personnel. Investigators are trained with fake blood to do bloodstain pattern analysis at a crime scene. On a less serious note, a bit of fake blood could be required when dressing up for a themed event. Can be combined with other artificial blood products.
