History

Founded in 1985, the original owner, Sigmund Rabe, developed stage make-up products through a self-interest motivated by insufficient supply due to political-economic circumstances. Many of his products quickly became well known and is still affectionately referred to as “Siggis”. In 2008, determined to retire, the then respected, though modest company, was sold to the current owners, Lance and Yolanda Kotze, who are since both committed to ensuring that the company conducts its affairs with prudence, integrity and in a socially responsible manner.

Vision

Siggis Make-Up develops and manufactures proprietary cosmetic products for the theatre and film industries. We are dedicated to serving educational institutes nationwide directly, while our market continually grows organically through resellers and agents. We welcome the imagination of our clients to inspire the development of that which we produce so that they can be successful artists.​

Synergy

Siggis Make-Up is based in Cape Town and as disclosed by our raw material suppliers, we seem to be holding a unique status in South Africa as the only manufacturer of this specific array of colour cosmetics. Due to the niche market we serve, we are able to make every product with care in small quantities and batches, giving us greater control over the entire production process. It is important to us to source only high quality cosmetic grade raw materials and we share in the commitment to and promotion of local employment, social and economic concerns.

Economy

We realise affordability remains a matter of great concern for our clients and therefore endeavour to contribute meaningfully to this process by limiting our annual price adjustments to well after seasonal demand receded. In addition, we are proud to maintain a truly competitive strategy for our product pricing compared to similar retail offerings.
